A promising year with agony and ecstasy :

Today is Kumar Poornima. Last year, it was on  22nd October. When the whole state of Odisha was celebrating Kumar Poornima and Gajalaxmipooja with pomp and ceremony, we initiated this small effort of launching our own divisional website aipeup3bbsr.blogspot.com in order to share our activities with all postal comrades in particular and people who love the working class in general.
With agony and ecstasy, we have completed one year of our journey in the mean time inviting more than 100000 page views (101030 till the time we are writing this article) with as many as 1130 postings covering  important news and activities of India Post including the same of our union starting from this Divisional Union to our CHQ, NFPE and Confederation. To keep well informed all our viewers, we have also tried to cover many important postal and trade union news from around the world. In this blog, we have tried to put forth our own views on all important issues faced by the employees of  India Post in general and the Comrades of Bhubaneswar Division in particular. We have analyzed the core issues like cadre restructuring of Group-C postal employees including Postmaster Cadre along with adjustment of surplus qualified candidates and other staff problems, problems arising out of  computerization and Project Arrow, issues related to Savings Bank , PLI and other premium products,  issues related to building matters especially on civil and electrical maintenance and dequarterization of all uninhabitable post attached quarters and  all such quarters below the prescribed schedule of accommodation.  We have never restricted our discussions on all such common issues only to the members of Bhubaneswar Division.  But we have always given our own opinions and suggestions to the Department through our CHQ / NFPE. While many suggestions have been appreciated and assured to be taken up with appropriate authority, some are also not responded. Through this blog we have also tried our best to open our mind discussing the necessity of united struggle in Odisha Postal Circle irrespective of cadre and wing which was also viewed in both ways by the readers.
No doubt, we have been encouraged a lot by all our well-wishers with regular constructive comments. Com. K V Sridharan, our beloved General Secretary being the first follower of this site has encouraged us a lot. This site has recorded his encouraging comments even at late nights. Simultaneously, we have also been discouraged by a certain group and some individuals. In their opinion, writing in a blog will not solve anything. This is just beating one’s own drum. Instances are there, when we have been criticized also for writing openly. We feel, as if maintenance of transparency in a democratic set up is a fault ! Our views and suggestions meant for the mass were considered personal and we were grossly misunderstood. Even our relief activity during the recent flood was not considered positively by some. While some people have been succeeded to convince their shrewdly played dirty games of union politics, we have unfortunately failed to convince the naked truth.
However, without any confusion, we have equally weighed the praise and blame as well as the love and hatred. Even being the victim of dirty politics, we have not stopped our work and deviated from our own principle to sacrifice anything for truth. We think it wise to clarify that the unsettled problems of the staff members are not due to the willful dilatory habits of the present team but for the so called system surrounded with adroit flatterers. Time will say how the herculean task of refining this system will be handled by the future generation.
We do not know if the present efficient and powerful team working for the benefit of all the staff members sincerely for last 6 years or so will be allowed anymore to work peacefully or not. Nevertheless, our profound love and deep affection for this postal division in particular and  postal family in general, our  untiring efforts and irrepressible activities for the welfare of the staff members in particular and working class in general,  our genuine representations before the administration  with irrefutable arguments and incontrovertible proof for rendering justice to the exploited and oppressed staff members will continue as usual.
On this day of the first anniversary of this site, we convey our red salute and record our sincere obligations to all the helping hands stretched towards its design, development and postings. We have the unflinching faith that all our beloved viewers will continue to extend their unconditional love for this site and encourage us to perform smarter and better.
Let truth prevail.

  2. Dear Samal,
I am sorry to say that the promising attitude shown by you for last 8 years has now been contradicted by some sort of despair. Not good at all - neither for you not for your team. Proceed ahead with your positive attitude. A vast supporting team is behind you.
Best wishes for completing one year of your blog.

  3. Respected Comrade,
Certainly you have given a new dimension to the union work culture. We are proud of you. Please don't be disheartened of the oppositions. Everybody is watching your style of working. We are completely aware of the success and failure of the present team. No advertisement is necessary. People who are engaged in backbiting will be exposed one day or other. The life of falsehood and jealous is too short.
Thanks for successful completion of one year of eventful journey.
