In a move for
successful campaigning to conduct effectively the one day all India strike on
12.12.12 called by the Confederation of Central Govt. Employees and Workers and
endorsed by the National Federation of Postal Employees, a joint General Body
Meeting of All India Postal Employees Union, Group-C, Postman / MTS and GDS (
NFPE ), Bhubaneswar Divisional branch
was organized at Kutamchandi Mandir, near Nayahat S O on 18.11.2012
under the president-ship of Com. Purna Chandra Dash, (President, P-III).
Though the Divisional
leadership of AIPEDEU did not attend the meeting in spite of several requests,
many members of the ED union attended the meeting. The meeting was purposefully
organized in the rural area to convince the rural postal employees especially
the GDS comrades the objectives and contributions of NFPE for their welfare. Briefly
describing the history of P & T Trade Union Movement, Com. B Samal,
Divisional Secretary gave a clear picture of the role/contribution of
NFPTE/NFPE for the betterment of the working class as a whole. The GDS comrades
who had been grossly misguided were made fully convinced the facts and the participating
GDS comrades submitted their resignations from the so called AIPEDEU instantly
with a promising attitude to strengthen AIPEU
GDS(NFPE) once again from grass root level. The meeting was also addressed by
Com. G S Panda, Divisional Secy., AIPEU GDS ( NFPE), Com. M M Acharya,
Ex-Divisional Secy, AIPEDEU, Com. R C Behera, Member, P-III and Com. D R
Mohanty, Asst. Secy, P-III.
The meeting was a grand
success. We personally greet Com. R C Kandi, Com. H K Sahoo and Com. NC Senapati
from P-III who had tried their best for organizing such a successful meeting. We
also thank Com. P C Dash ( President-, P-III), Com. A K Mohanty (Vice-president,
P-III), Com. Daitary Mohapatra (Vice-president, P-III), and Com. D R Mohanty (
Asst. Secy., P-III) for providing vehicle assistance for the meeting.
