Uttarakhand: Relief Material to be Dispatched Free by Postal Department

Department of Posts has decided to dispatch Parcels of relief material free of postage charges for providing help to the victims of natural calamity of Uttarakhand State. 
           
This facility is made available in the following HOs of Delhi Postal Circle where the parcels upto 35 KGs of relief material such as cloths, blankets, woolens, bedsheets, medicines, tarpaulin, plastic sheets, torch, long shelf-life food etc can be booked free of charges.

This free of charge facility will be available upto20th July 2013 only.

No charges on relief sent to Uttarakhand by post
KANPUR: The authorities of the postal department have introduced free postal service forUttarakhand. The department would not charge on the relief material sent to the flood affected areas in the hill state.

Anyone sending relief material to Uttarakhandunder the weight of 35 kilograms would not have to pay any charge for the delivery. The delivery can be made of any solid stuff while inflammable and liquid material are prohibited under the scheme.

This facility will be valid till July 20 in all the post offices in Kanpur zone.

Post master general Sukhdev Raj said that people can send uncooked edibles to Uttarakhand victims. Clothes and first-aid articles, torches and blankets can be send under the scheme.

The material should be send in favour of 'Chief Post Master, Dehradoon' to be sent to the flood affected areas in that state.
