VOSS-92 organized a seminar on Philatelly

A Seminar on Stamp Collection   was organized on  Kranti Diwas (9^th  Aug, 2014) at Rotary Club by Vanivihar Old Students Society-92(VOSS-92) in association with India Post. Students of different Schools like CCIE Public School, BJEM School, Mothers Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya No-1, St. Xavier High School, DAV Public School, Pokhariput, Loyola School,  Saraswati Sisu Mandir, Gudia Pokhari, Venkateswar EM School, Jharpada,  Venkateswar EM School Unit-IV, MBS Public school, Prabhuji English Medium School, VSS Nagar, Saraswati Sisu Mandir, Baragarh, St. Xavier's High School, Khandagiri, DAV Public School, Unit-VIII,  DAV Public School , C.S.Pur, St. Xavier High School, VSS Nagar,  Sai International School,  Delhi Public School, Talcher have participated in the Seminar along with their Teacher/Parents.

Inaugurating the Seminar as Chief Guest, Sri P.K.Sing, IPoS, Director Postal Services, Bhubaneswar Head Quarters Region spoke about the King of Hobbies and invited all participants to attend the forth coming  State Level Stamp Exhibition (ODIPEX 2014) scheduled to be held  at Marawadi Society, Unit-6, Bhubaneswar from 22^nd  Aug to 24^th  August, 2014. Among others, Sri S.C.Barik, Sr. Supdt. of Post Offices, Bhubaneswar Division, Dr. Bibhudutta Mishra & Sri S.S.Rath, eminent Philatelists  have graced the seminar and told on History / Varieties of Stamps, and collection procedures.

 Under the Chairmanship of Sri Pitabasa Jena, President, VOSS-92 (also the Circle Secretary, All India Association of Inspector of Posts & Assistant Superintendents, Odisha Circle), Dr. Manisha Acharya, Member VOSS-92 introduced Guests. Sri Dharanidhar Nanda, Dharmendra Mallik, Kamal Lochan Parida and Subhransu Acharya spoke on importance of 9^th  Aug and importance of stamps. Sri Gadadhar Rath, Gen. Secy, VOSS-92 spoke about VOSS-92 and its objectives to create awareness on various issues in the Society. All India Radio Junior Artist, Raja Saheb Soumendra, Student of Std-IX, DAV, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar and Pratyasa Ray of Std-VII, BJEM School, a Bronze Medal winner and National Champion in 50 Mts swimming backstroke for 2014 were felicitated by VOSS-92 for their achievement in Singing and Swimming respectively.

Dr. Sudhakar Jally, founder Member, VOSS-92 has given Vote of thanks to Guests, Media, Students & parents. Students have availed the service of My Stamp and certificates were distributed to all the participating students.

 Director Postal services has appreciated and expressed heartfelt thanks to VOSS-92 team  for initiative taken by VOSS-92.
