Divisional level convention of All India Postal Casual, Part-time, Contingent and Contract Workers Federation,(AIPCPCCWF) Bhubaneswar Division branch

The first Divisional level convention of All India Postal Casual, Part-time, Contingent and Contract Workers Federation, (AIPCPCCWF)  Bhubaneswar Divisional branch was organized successfully  in the premises of Ashoknagar MDG on 07.02.2015 under the guidance of Com. Bruhaspati Samal, Divisional Secretary, AIPEU, Group-C, Bhubaneswar Division and Vice-President, Odisha Circle. As many as 60 casual workers working in different post offices of Bhubaneswar Division did participate in the convention. All the participating casual workers were briefed on the importance of formation and functioning of union.

If labour is going to wait for the Govt. and mainstream to  invite them, they will be waiting for a long time. If labour is not involved, an important opportunity  to shape and implement the present policies will be certainly missing. That’s why formation and functioning of union do matter.

All the casual workers were made aware on the much awaited order from the Postal Directorate regarding payment of remuneration to the casual labours/workers engaged on contingent basis  with respect to the minimum of Pay Band – I ( Rs. 5200 – 20200 ), i.e. Rs.5200/- plus Grade Pay of Rs.1300/- and D A as admissible from time to time with effect from 01.01.2006 along with benefit of merger of 50% DA  as instructed vide Directorate’s O M No.2-53/2011-PCC, dated 22nd January, 2015. This order is now under implementation in Bhubaneswar Division for which Com. B Samal has already taken up the issue with the SSPOs, Bhubaneswar Division.

Since these workers have a definite contribution for forwarding the Swachh Bharat Mission and maintaining the cleanliness drive of India Post, every responsible India Post employee should try his level best for giving justice to them. These low-paid deprived workers should not be exploited in any manner. Com. B Samal appealed for united effort to protect their interest.
