A total of 591 students took part in the contest that was organised in two places by the Vellore Postal Division. The department is celebrating the National Postal Week from October 9 to 15.

Officials said they provided an A4 paper and Rs. 5 postal cover for the students. It was held for two categories – classes I to V and classes VI to X.

The students submitted their entries and had to mention the address of their grand parent on the cover. This letter will be sent to the grand parent.

In addition to the contest, the department also organised a philatelic exhibition in line with the celebrations. They have also planned for a postal life insurance and rural postal life insurance mela at Kulalar Thirumana Mandapam, Virinjipuram on Wednesday, the officials said.
