40th Circle Conference of AIAIASP, Odisha Circle branch concluded successfully on 07.02.2016 in Bhubaneswar

            The 40th Circle Conference of AIAIASP, Odisha Circle branch was inaugurated with the state song of Odisha, “ Bande Utkal Janani……” by Shri Tilak De, Chief PMG, Odisha Circle as Chief Guest  in the kind presence of Shri Soumya Ranjan Pattnaik, Editor, “The Sambad” as Chief Speaker, Col. J Kanhar, PMG, Sambalpur Region and Shri S R Swain, DA(P), Odisha as Guests of Honuor.

Assisted with Smt. Neeta Seremseti, IP, Smt. Madhusmita Padhi, IP gave the welcome address and greeted all the invitees at the outset.

While Shri Pitabasa Jena, Circle Secretary, AIAIASP, Odisha Circle placed the Biennial Report, the Conference was presided over by Shri Debiprasad Nayak, President of the Association.

Department of Posts is one of the oldest organizations. It has played a leading role in linking people with people through its vast network of mail management. But now a days people are not writing letters, sending money orders and all the traditional services offered by the Department have become obsolete due to the advancement of Information and Technology. Addressing the Conference, the Chief Speaker Shri Pattnaik reminded each employee of India Post to comprise with the technological advancement now in trend and be a part of India’s inclusive growth so that the Department can restore its goodwill mitigating the urban rural gap.

While the Chief PMG stressed upon achieving the targets fixed for the Department, the PMG Samablapur Region and DA(P), Odisha praised the role of the IPs and ASPOs in this regard.

Among others, the Conference was addressed by the following officers of the Department.
1.    Shri S B Mohapatra, Former President, AIAIASP, CHQ and Sr. Postmaster, Bhubaneswar GPO ( Retired).
2.    Sri S K Mohapatra,  Former Secretary, Officers’ Association and APMG(Vig), Odisha Circle.
3.    Sri Subash Ch. Barik, President, Officers’ Association and DDM(PLI), Odisha Circle.
4.    Bipin Bihari Mohanty, Former Circle Secretary, AIAIASP, Odisha Circle and SPOs, Bhadrak Division.

Due to deep fraternal relationship with AIAIASP, Odisha Circle branch, Com. B Samal, Divisional Secretary, AIPEU, Group-C, Bhubaneswar had also been invited and given an opportunity to address the Conference.  Expressing his gratitude for giving such a scope, Com. Samal appealed the gathering for united struggle under one platform irrespective of cadre and wing for the common cause which will benefit both the Department and its employees. With due apology, Com. Samal appealed the Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Circle  who was present in the Conference as Chief Guest to examine the lapses confronting achievement of targets fixed for the Department and arrange for bringing  immediate solution to the problems of the grass root level workers directly responsible for earning revenue for Department of Posts. Com. Samal was accompanied with Com. Gadadhar Rath, Member, AIPEU, Gr.-C, Bhubaneswar Division.

Among others, Com. Srikant Mallick, Circle Secretary, AIPSBCOEA, Com.  A Samamnta, Circle Secretary AISBCOEA and many retired officers of the Department  were also present.

The Association felicitated Shri Soumya Ranjan Pattnaik with a memento of “My Stamp”.

Lastly, Sri Prasant Ku. Patra, ASPOs gave the vote of thanks and the Conference was brought to an end with the National Song.

Sri Prasant Kumar Patra, ASPOs, Circle Office, Sri Pitabasa Jena, IP & Manager, Project Arrow and Bijaya Ku. Pradhan, IRM, Jharsuguda were unanimously elected as the Circle President, Secretary and Treasurer of AIAIASP, Odisha Circle respectively for the ensuing session.

Expecting all sorts of fraternal cooperation, the All India Postal Employees Union Group-C, Bhubaneswar Division extends its warm greetings to all  the newly elected office bearers of the Association.
