The
1st Conference of
Asia-Pacific Region of Trade Union International - Pensioners & Retired was
concluded successfully in Kathmandu (Nepal).
This
international conference is a step ahead in the direction of uniting all
pensioners and retirees world over.
A
declaration called the "Kathmandu Declaration" adopted by this
conference after discussions by the delegates attending
from Nepal, India, China and Bangladesh.
Leadership of TUI P&R through its
President Comrade Dimos Koumpouris guided the conference through his initial
and closing presentations.
The Conference decided to take full
initiatives to build pensioners organisations in many countries under TUI
P&R and elected unanimously a Committee under the Vice President of TUI for
Asia comrade Mohan Bahadur.
The Committee among others also
consists of comrade D Gopalakrishnan (TUI Organising Secretary of Asia) and V A
N Namboodiri (TUI Technical Committee Member) of India.

subjects committee.
