Sankalp project

The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare has initiated scheme in January 2014, “Sankalp” which aims at channelizing skill, experience and time available with retired government servants into meaningful, voluntary contribution to society. This would add to the social capital of the country and at the same time restore dignity and purpose to life post-retirement.

So far, around 1,600 Pensioners and 19 Pensioners’ Associations have successfully registered under Sankalp.

So far 28 such workshops for retiring Government employees of various Ministries/Departments in New Delhi and for Central Armed Police Forces at different locations in the country have been conducted. Further, 7 Training of Trainers workshops for Central Armed Police Forces have been conducted at their establishments in which 502 trainers have been trained for conducting their own Pre-Retirement Counseling workshops.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Jitendra Singh in written reply to a question by Shri Gajanan Kirtikar, Shri Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Dr. Sunil Baliram Gaikwad, Dr. J.
