Sankalp project
The Department of
Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare has initiated scheme in January 2014,
“Sankalp” which aims at channelizing skill, experience and time available with
retired government servants into meaningful, voluntary contribution to society.
This would add to the social capital of the country and at the same time
restore dignity and purpose to life post-retirement.
So far, around 1,600 Pensioners and 19 Pensioners’ Associations have successfully registered under Sankalp.

To create awareness
amongst retiring employees about this project, the Department has been
conducting Pre-Retirement Counseling workshops regularly. So far 28 such
workshops for retiring Government employees of various Ministries/Departments
in New Delhi and for Central Armed Police Forces at different locations in the
country have been conducted. Further, 7 Training of Trainers workshops for
Central Armed Police Forces have been conducted at their establishments in
which 502 trainers have been trained for conducting their own Pre-Retirement
Counseling workshops.
This was stated by
the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and
Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Jitendra Singh in written
reply to a question by Shri Gajanan Kirtikar, Shri Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy,
Dr. Sunil Baliram Gaikwad, Dr. J. Jayavardhan, Kunwar Haribansh Singh, Shri
Sudheer Gupta, Shri Bidyut Baran Mahato, Shri SR Vijayakumar & Smt. K.
Maragatham in the Lok Sabha today.
