Sincere Appeal to all Comrades of FNPO, Orissa Circle Branch:

“Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength. We all have great inner power. The power is self-faith. There's really an attitude to winning. You have to see yourself winning before you win. And you have to be hungry. You have to want to conquer.

Dear Comrades,
As  already published in this website , we deeply felt the absence of   local leadership from FNPO during the last Dharana Programme on 25.05.2011  in the premises of the Circle Office and in the State Level Convention on 29.05.2011 in Shikhyak Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. Since the joint call for the forthcoming nationwide indefinite strike has been given by the Central J C A  with the involvement of respective CHQs and Federations, avoidance to attend  to the joint programmes  being organized  in a phased manner  is nothing but clear deviation to the instructions of the CHQ / Federation which is not union spirit in true sense.
Here it will be wise to remind my beloved FNPO leaders of Orissa Circle that Com. D. Kishan  Rao , General Secretary NAPE, Group-C has clearly published the letter of the Central J C A addressed to the Secretary Post in connection with the Indefinite Strike along with the Charter of Demands in March / April-2011 issue of “Postal Sentinel”, their  monthly journal . Similarly in May – 2011 issue of “Postal Sentinel”, Com. D Kishan Rao , clearly narrating the justification of going on strike by the postal employees  in his article titled “It is the turn of Postal Workers of India now”, has made a sincere appeal to one and all for united struggle for making the indefinite strike commencing 5th July, 2011 a grand success to stop the offensives. This apart, the official website of NAPE, Group-C  is also publishing all the developments in this regard from time to time. As such the local leadership from FNPO cannot say that they are not in receipt of any information from their higher forums  to  participate in dharana programmes / conventions etc. For their non-attendance, there may be some other reasons best known to them.
Nevertheless, it is our earnest appeal to the FNPO local leadership of  Orissa Circle to go through their monthly journal and website to have the instructions of their CHQ / Federation and come forward without any second thought  to make the proposed indefinite strike a successful one.
The Divisional Secretary of AIPEU, Group-C, Bhubaneswar has already requested his counterparts of NAPE, Group-C, NUGDS to attend the joint meeting scheduled to be held in PRC, Bhubaneswar GPO at 18 00 hours on 03.06.2011 to form the Divisional JCA . Hope they will positively come forward with a commitment giving due honour to the instructions of their respective CHQ / Federation and leave no stone unturned to keep the image and goodwill of Bhubaneswar Division in the field of trade union activities.
We should all have a strong determination at this moment to give justice not  only to the employees of India Post but also to the crores of Indian citizen by saving India Post. Nothing is to be preferred before justice and as I feel your conscience is the chamber of justice. So ask yourself to build confidence and see that justice and power shall be brought together so that whatever is just may be powerful and whatever is powerful may be just. Remember that we are built to conquer environment, solve problems, achieve goals and we find no real satisfaction or happiness in life without obstacles to conquer and goals to achieve.
All should remember that strike is inevitable. Unity is the need of the hour. Let’s all be united to conduct the programme jointly and successfully and save India Post.
In this context, I should remind you some important stanzas of the poem Raise Your Fist written by Toyi Toyi Artz Kollektive, Zimbabwe. I feel, certainly this will inspire you.
“If you are warrior Raise Your Fist High!
Are you a warrior Raise Your Fist! ……………
Uncle Bob, uncle Sam, Or another uncle Tom,
We remain the same, Poor and we’re unemployed
A black president, a woman head of state,
Another window dresser seals the working-class fate
The democratic right to choose a new slave-master
Cosmetic changes make the slave work faster
So until the power is in the hands of the people,
I’ll be in the streets chanting change still a rebel
I’ll be in the streets chanting change still a rebel
If you are warrior Raise Your Fist High!
Are you a warrior Raise Your Fist High!”
B. Samal
Secretary, AIPEU, Group-C
Bhubaneswar Division
