Staff of Sahidnagar Mukhya Dak Ghar celebrated World Environment Day :

World Environment Day (WED) is an annual event that is aimed at being the biggest and most widely celebrated global day for positive environmental action. WED activities take place all year round but climax on 5 June every year, involving everyone from everywhere.
WED celebration began in 1972 and has grown to become the one of the main vehicles through which the UN stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and encourages political attention and action. Through WED, the UN Environment Programme is able to personalize environmental issues and enable everyone to realize not only their responsibility, but also their power to become agents for change in support of sustainable and equitable development.

WED is also a day for people from all walks of life to come together to ensure a cleaner, greener and brighter outlook for themselves and future generations by organizing a neighborhood clean-up, stopping use plastic bags, planting a tree or organizing a collective tree planting effort, starting  a recycling drive  and such other related works the  possibilities of which are endless.
Everyone counts in this initiative and WED relies on everybody to make this happen. Being the
responsible employees of India Post which is a socially committed, technology driven, professionally managed and forward looking organization, the staff of Sahidnagar MDG, Bhubaneswar – 751 007  as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility organized a collective plantation programme in the premises of Sahidnagar MDG  under the guidance and supervision of Sri B. Samal, Postmaster.

To save the planet and its people, the staff of Sahidnagar MDG made a small effort through collective plantation inside the campus of the post office.
Everybody should do something whatever is possible within his efficiency and available resources to protect the environment and save the planet and its people. If you have not contributed anything, think it today.
