NEW DELHI: The cabinet on Wednesday approved revised pay allowances for executives and other categories of staff at central public sector undertakings, sources said.
The revision is based on the recommendation of the third pay commission
for state run entities. Sources said a vast chunk of employees at state
run firms will benefit from the revision and it will also help in
motivating the staff in these companies.
The government has implemented the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission for central government employees. It also approved revised allowances for central government staff. Any recommendations of a pay commission for central government employees sparks demand for higher salaries from various entities including state run companies. There are more than 320 central public sector undertakings, according to latest data.
