Jammu & Kashmir to get floating Post Office:


Srinagar, May 23 (IBNS) Claiming the Indian Government is very much interested in development of postal services in Jammu & Kashmir, Chief Post Master General, J&K circle, John Samuel on Monday said that the world's first floating post office on famous Dal lake will start functioning in June this year.
            Speaking at a press conference in Srinagar, Samuel said the floating post office, especially meant for tourists, will work round the week and it will have all the facilities.
            "The special feature of this post office is that one will get a special design (special cancellation letter) while posting a letter. This special design will have the picturesque sceneries of Dal Lake and Srinagar city and these pictures will reach wherever these letters will be posted. It means Kashmir will become more famous and will glow on the tourist map," said Samuel.
            He said that in order to attract more tourists, the post office located in famous tourist destination Gulmarg, will be turned into ‘tourist post office’ on June 8.
            He said that in Gulmarg also tourists will get special cancellation letter which will contain pictures of the famous ski-resort.
