Launch of ‘Mobile Money Transfer Service’ by Chief Postmaster General Odisha Circle (Bhubaneswar) 7th October, 2013:

Shri Tilak De Chief Postmaster General Odisha Circle launched  “Mobile Money Transfer” Service of India Post and Maverick Mobile Solution Pvt. Ltd in association BSNL have joined hands to launch this service.
This service enables immediate ‘money transfer’ from one person to another through Post offices using mobile phones. The Postal assistants use the mobile phone and technology provided by BSNL. The sender and recipient customers can have mobile number of any Telecom operator.
At Present, this service is enabled in more than 8000 Post Offices across 15 Postal Circles ( Punjab, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand,Maharashtra,UP , Kerala ,Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana , Andhra Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka ).Now Odisha Circle is  also added to the said list.
 In this service, money is accepted (Cash-in) from sender customers by Post office (PO) at originating Post office & the money is sent to the recipient’s mobile number by the Postal Assistant. The sender customer and recipient customer immediately gets SMS of ‘money transfer’ on their mobile phone. The sender customer also gets a secret code on his/her mobile for this transaction, which he/she has to inform to the recipient customer. With the transaction-id and secret code the recipient customer can immediately walk in the nearest Post office in any part of the country, enabled for this service and can claim money.
While Launching the service, CPMG said, "India is among the few leading nations, where tele-density has increased at a very fast pace. Mobile Money Transfer Service is first of its kind in India and targets largely the migrant people and students, who are working or studying away from their families. It enables instant transfer of Money on the mobile number through SMS. Also, this service synergises large number of Points of Presence (POPs) of DoP and vast spread of mobile network of BSNL to serve the common man."  This service will certainly change the trends of Remittance in Odisha  Circle and generate huge transactions within and outside of the Circle. The key features of the service like RECALL & CASH IN REVERSAL etc make the service much more convenient for any customer. The flexiblity in the service is the USP of the service. Mobile Money Transfer Service is user friendly for Postal Assistants and it has been developed keeping in mind the Customer Delight as well.
