Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas said Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhu and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would flag off a special train being introduced for the convenience of the employees shifting from Hyderabad to Amaravati, at the Vijayawada station on June 20.
Addressing media persons in Hyderabad on Saturday, Mr. Srinivas said the special train was the result of Mr. Naidu’s initiative and the Central government has readily agreed to his suggestion to operate a train that helps employees in moving to the Andhra Pradesh. capital region without much difficulty.
Mr. Naidu had put forth the special train proposal during Mr. Prabhu’s recent visit to Vijayawada to make the employees feel comfortable in moving to the emerging capital city.
Mr. Prabhu has positively responded to the Chief Minister’s plea, paving the way for the special train that leaves Vijayawada at 5.30 p.m. and reaches Secunderabad at 11 p.m.
In the return direction, the train will leave Secunderabad at 5.30 a.m. and reach Vijayawada at 11 a.m.
These trains will run via Guntur.
Guntakal-Kallur line
Mr. Srinivas said the Railway Minister would also lay the foundation stone for doubling of the Guntakal-Kallur line on the same date (June 20).
The Railway Minister will take stock of various pending projects and chart the future course of action.
