A web based application named ‘VVIP Letters Monitoring System
(VLMS)’ has been developed by NIC for monitoring the progress of VVIP letters
addressed to the Prime Minister, which provides paperless communication between
the ministries and PMO. It also facilitates online updating of status on the
issue raised by Chief Ministers. With the introduction of this system no
separate written communications are required to be sent from this office while
monitoring the progress of VVIP letters.
A system of Centre-State Coordination is already in place in the Cabinet Secretariat. Regular Coordination meetings are held to identify the issues pending for resolution. Besides a web-based system is also functional for online monitoring of resolution of issues between Centre and State Governments.
This was stated by Minister of State for Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr. Jitendra Singh in a written reply to Shri B. Vinod Kumar in the Lok Sabha today.
