USPS News : Reader's View: Postal workers have always given excellent service

"Snail mail.” I thoroughly dislike this modern reference to the U.S. Postal Service. Postal employees have served my needs for 65-plus years. The service has been excellent, despite a Congress of the United States that pilfered its funds and refuses now to support one of the longest-standing services in our nation. If one-10th of the money spent on wars in the last 10 years had been placed instead in the postal service, it would be solvent.
I reject the term “snail mail,” but Uncle Sam made it so.
I purchased “forever” stamps, never realizing how prophetic they were.
Nice work, Uncle Sam. Send billions to aid the rest of the world but not enough for the U.S. Postal Service.
