The Women Sub-Committee of All India
Postal Employees Union arranged its Annual Meet on the National Girl Child Day
(24.01.2016) in the premises of Ashoknagar MDG, Bhubaneswar – 751 009.
The meet, organized by Com. Kantimanjari
Bhatt, Convener, Com. Banani Rath, Sub-Convener and assited by Com. Suravi Kar, member was presided by Com. Nandita
Mohanty, Chair-person and participated by as many as 30 women comrades
excluding their children. The bonding was par excellence. Women comrades from
rural area have also attended the meet. As many as 20 children ( Girls) also participated in the meet and felt the importance of National Girl Child Day.
Inaugurating the meet, Com. B Samal,
Divisional Secretary briefed the importance of National Girl Child Day and role
of the Department of Posts in contributing to the welfare of girl child through
opening of more and more Sukanya Samridhi Accounts. Every women employee has a
definite role to play in this regard. He appreciated the activities of the
women Sub-Committee in carrying forward the movement of women participation in
union field.
The participating children, especially
the girls enjoyed a lot with their mother.
The meeting was ended with an unanimous resolution to celebrate the International Women's Day on 8th March, 2016 with full and active participation of all the women employees of Bhubaneswar Division.
