In a bid to capitalize on the massive opportunities in the public infrastructure sector, Acer India has set up a separate team under its enterprise division. Aman Nagar has been appointed to lead the team.

According to Rajendran, over the next three years, the UID project is expected to spend $600 million only on clients for capturing the biometric identity of the vast Indian population. Similarly, the Department of Posts has earmarked a budget of $4 billion for the modernization of over 1.3 lakh post offices across the country.
"The computerization of NREGA to bring in transparency in the execution of the entire scheme to the last mile is another big project that the government has outlined for investment," explained Rajendran.
Acer also expects automation in the power sector to be a big growth driver in the public infrastructure space, over the next three to four years.
