Subject: [cpmg-dop] Use of Virtual Scanning Feature in Speed Net
Dear Sir/Madam,
The feature of "virtual scanning" available in Speed Net allows the origin Sorting Hub to enable this feature after closing of a bag for a Sorting Hub or a delivery post office and when the destination Sorting Hub or delivery post offices receives the bags, such bags can be electronically received without individually scanning the articles. However, very often, there is a mismatch in the electronic data and physical receipt, and therefore, this creates operational difficulties and poses a risk. It has earlier been informed that the feature of virtual scan is not to be used by Sorting Hubs or delivery Post Offices.

The issue of virtual scan has been examined afresh, and it has been decided that neither Sorting Hub nor delivery post offices should use this feature anymore and the same should be stopped with immediate effect. In the next version of Speed Net, this feature would be centrally disabled.

regards,
Rishikesh
