In order to discover and encourage talents amongst wards of Central Government Employees, the Central Civil Services Cultural & Sports Board (CCSCSB) the Central Agency for promotion of Cultural and Sports activities amongst the Central Government Employees in the country, organized Summer Coaching Camps in Basket Ball, Cricket, Football, Lawn Tennis and Self-Defence. The Coaching Camps were held at CCSCSB Playing facilities at Vinay Marg and Sector-13, R.K. Puram, New Delhi. Around 300 children of different age groups were imparted coaching.
The Summer Coaching Camps ware inaugurated by Mrs. Archana Varma, Joint Secretary (AT&A), Department of Personnel & Training on 15.05.2014. The Closing Ceremony of the Camps was held on June 16, 2014 in which Dr. S.K. Sarkar, Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training was the Chief Guest.
As a part of the activities on completion of 50 years by the CCSCSB, Tournament in Basketball, Cricket and Football have also been organized during the Camps.
Since inception in 1964, the CCSCSB has been fostering sportsmanship amongst the Central Government Employees and providing them opportunities to meet in the field of sport and recreation. The Board organizes Inter-Ministry tournaments in 19 disciplines and All India Civil Services Tournaments in 17 disciplines. The Board has sports facilities in Athletics, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Lawn Tennis at Vinay Marg and Lawn Tennis in Bharti Nagar, Sector-13 R.K. Puram and Brassey Avenue, New Delhi. Facilities for indoor games such as Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess are available at Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi.
