Notes:
As you know, the P & T Trade Union Movement
initiated in the name of a Postal Club in Kolkatta GPO with support of 150
employees only during 1905 latter became recognized as National
Federation of Post and Telegraph Employees (NFPTE) on 24th November,
1954 after years of uncompromised
struggles and sacrifices for the benefit of the whole working class in general
and P & T employees in particular. Consequent upon separation of the
Department to Department of Posts and Department of Telecommunications in
February, 1986, NFPTE was bifurcated to National Federation of Postal Employees
(NFPE) and National Federation of Telecom Employees (NFTE). With its glorious history and tradition, NFPE is committed and determined to serve the Postal
Workers to improve their economic and service conditions. It also continues to
serve as the vanguard of the Central Government employees’ movement as a whole.
The NFPE
has entered its 60th years of existence on 24th November,
2013 and in commemoration, the Diamond Jubilee Celebration has been inaugurated
in New Delhi on the very day. All the affiliated unions of NFPE are now
