The Union Labour & Employment Minister Shri Mallikarjun Kharge has informed the Lok Sabha that a number of complaints have been received from various institutions in regard to violation of labour laws during the last three years.
The Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) organization enforces the provisions of various labour laws in the establishments falling under central sphere through its field offices. The complaints received in the field offices under various labour laws during last three years is given as under:-
2008-09 – 400
2009-10 – 337
2010-11 - 358
As and when complaints are received, necessary action is taken by way of investigating the complaints and inspection is also conducted in the establishment against which the complaint is received. Against the employers, who are found guilty of violating the provisions of the various labour laws, prosecution action is taken by way of filing complaints against such employers in the appropriate court. Also, the question of delay in justice regarding the above complaints does not arise.
On receipt of the complaints regarding violation of labour laws the inspector so appointed by the Government under the various enactments visits the establishment and conduct inspection of the establishment. The Regional Heads issue instructions to the Inspectors/Field Officers for speedy disposal of such complaints and ensure the timely action against the defaulting employers who are found violating the labour laws.
The Minister was replying to a written question whether a number of complaints have been received from various institutions in regard to violation of labour laws during the last three years.
