ALLAHABAD: Department of Posts has decided to open identified post offices on Dhanteras for people who purchase gold coins.
Informing this, director, Postal Services, Allahabad Region, Krishna
Kumar Yadav said that Allahabad HPO, Allahabad Kty HPO and Handia Post
Office will remain open for sale of gold coins. Besides, Pratapgarh,
Jaunpur, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Varanasi Cantt Head Post Offices, Obra and
Shaktinagar Post Offices of Allahabad Region will also remain open for
the facility of customers to purchase of Gold coins.

further said that on special demand of Gold coins by customers on the
festival of Dhanteras special gift to selected three customers will be
awarded through lottery system who have purchased gold coins from
Allahabad Head Post Office only alongwith 7 percent discount. This sale
scheme will be given only for the day of Dhanteras.
Winners will be announced on November 20.
These coins are 24 carrot (99.99%) gold bears a logo of Department of
Posts which is certified by Valcambi Switzerland. These coins are tamper
proof and available in the identified post offices in the denomination of 0.5 gm, 1gm, 5 gms, 8 gm, 10 gms, 20 gms & 50 gms.
