15th Anniversay Kargil Vijay Diwas - Postage Stamps

India is all set to mark the 15th anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July i.e. on Saturday to pay tribute to those 527 brave heroes of Indian Armed Forces who sacrificed their lives while fighting bravely against Pakistan forces and intruders to safeguard our motherland. Kargil War began on 8th May, 1999 and ended on 26th July 1999 after Indian Army announced complete eviction of Pakistani intruders. The Kargil conflict was the most serious military engagement between India and Pakistan since the war of 1971. The Indian Army observes Kargil Vijay Diwas every year on 26th July in the Kargil-Dras sector. In the national capital of India, New Delhi, Prime Minister of India pays homage to the martyrs soldiers at Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate.
