VADODARA: The Vadodara district administration in collaboration with the postal department released special postal stamps on Tuesday to spread awareness about voting. The stamp has been dedicated to voters of Vadodara for the bypolls on September 13. The district officials have taken up several drives to ensure that maximum citizens come out to vote.
Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi will arrive in the city on Thursday to support the campaign for maximum voting.
"Our aim is to spread awareness and motivate maximum voters to cast ballot," said district collector Avantika Singh. Ninety-three-year-old Rati Sokhda released the special postal stamps on Tuesday. Citizens will also be able to procure postal stamps with photographs of their favourite destinations, friends or relatives under 'My Stamp' scheme of the postal department.

The administration has taken up Vote Vadodara Vote campaign wherein hoardings have been erected at strategic locations, radio jingles are being aired and a special mobile application has been made for voting awareness.
A motorbike rally will pass through the city on Wednesday and walkathon has been organized on Thursday for poll awareness campaign. The torrential rains in Vadodara are threatening to disrupt the poll awareness drives. The administration is on its toes to ensure that people turn up to vote even if it rains on the polling day. The administration will erect waterproof pandals at several polling centres in the district.
