MUMBAI: Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Lady Ratanbai and Sir Mathuradas Vissanji Academy, established in 1963, a special postal cover was released. The poster cover was released by Suresh Shetty, minister of public health and family welfare and Environment and Protocol, Maharashtra State along with Harish Agrawal - Postmaster General, Mail Management.
Dr Farida Virani, head of department and professor - HR and Behavioural Science at MET - Institute of Management, Mumbai was the guest speaker. The event was held at the auditorium of Vissanji Academy.
From its modest beginning, the school continues the journey it began 50 years ago, guided by the motto of 'Love & Learn', to equip students to be 'Ready for Tomorrow'. The school is known for producing some of the best talent in various fields, to name a few, education, medicine, engineering, sports, advertising and even spirituality.
Commenting on their journey, Hemant Vissanji, Trustee of Vissanji Academy, said, "The release of the special postal cover is an apt conclusion to the Golden Jubilee Celebrations. This event is also an occasion for us to renew our commitment to preserve this legacy for future generations."
Emphasizing the need of education, Suresh Shetty, Hon'ble Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare and Environment and Protocol, Maharashtra said that Vissanji Academy has been contributing towards enlightening students for the last 50 years. "I wish them (Vissanji Academy) a great success to score a century," he said.
Harish Agrawal - Postmaster General, Mail Management said that the postal department takes the pride of releasing the special postal cover on this special occasion. "It's a great occasion for Vissanji Academy as the Central government and the Postal Department to be a part of this event," he added.
