To
The Senior Superintendent of Post Offices
Bhubaneswar Division, Bhubaneswar – 751 009

No. UN-BN/AIPEU-Gr.-C/ 03 – 04/2014,                    Dated at  Bhubaneswar the 7th April, 2014

Sub:    Modification in MMS Schedule IV with effect from 07.04.2014

Ref.-      Divisional Office Memo No. No: G–49/CH-II, dated 04.04.2014.

Sir,
Inviting a kind reference to Divisional office memo under reference on the above subject this is to intimate that while the working hours of BJB Nagar S O is from 9.30 to 17.30 and the same of Ashoknagar MDG is from 10.00 to 18.00 hours, both the offices have been ordered to wait for the Mail Van beyond the prescribed working hours. While BJB Nagar S O will hand over the bags at 18.02 hours, Ashoknagar MDG will hand over at 18.10 hours.
The revised MMS Schedule has also ignored the traffic problems in Bhubaneswar city. While a period 10 minutes has been given to the Mail Motor from Khandagiri to DDHB Housing Board Colony with one traffic post only, a period of 4 minutes has been allowed to reach Ashoknagar MDG from BJB Nagar with 2 traffic posts when the distances are almost same. There are several other instances in the above revised MMS Schedule with irrational timing.
As such, this union requests the SSPOs kindly to look into the feasibility of time factor framed in the Revised MMS Schedule and restrict the timings within the working hours of the above offices.
A line of reply on the action taken is highly solicited.
With regards.
Yours sincerely,

(B Samal)
Secretary
