ALLAHABAD: Now get assured gifts when you receive money through a post office scheme started under the Western Union Money Transfer Scheme of the Postal Department. It has now become even more tempting to receive money remitted from foreign countries from post offices. So whenever your relatives, residing in foreign countries, send you money, visit the nearest identified post office to not only receive you money conveniently, but also get an assured gift by the post office

This information was provided by Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region, Krishna Kumar Yadav.

Yadav said that Department of Posts has started this special scheme in collaboration with Western Union Services India Private Ltd as a consumer promotion initiative for customers who receive their foreign remittances through post offices. This scheme will be operational till September 30. Under the scheme, every time a customer visits post office to collect his foreign remittance, he will be given an assured gift. Yadav added that other than these assured gifts, customers will have the opportunity to enter a lucky draw and win mobile handsets. Notably, for more than a decade the Postal Department is providing its customers the facility to receive remittances from foreign countries under the Western Union International Money Transfer Service.

Yadav said that this facility is available at 7,100 post offices across the country. In 10 districts of the Allahabad region, this service is being offered at 97 identified post offices. In Allahabad district itself, other than Allahabad and Allahabad Kutchery head post offices, this facility is available in Handia, Allahabad City (Johnstenganj), C. Lines (Teliyarganj), GTB Nagar, High Court, Bahadurganj, Phaphamau, Atrampur, Sirathu, Daraganj, Mutthiganj, Lalgopalganj, Soraon and Saidabad post offices.
