ALLAHABAD: There is some good news for the prospective gold coin buyers
on the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritiya and Pushya Nakshatra. The
Postal Department has decided to offer special discounts to customers on the purchase of India Post Gold Coins.
The Director of Postal Services at Allahabad, Krishna Kumar Yadav said that under this discount scheme, every customer purchasing Gold Coins from identified Post Offices will be offered a special discount of 7.5% instead of an earlier 7%.
He also said that the 7.5% discount will be available only on the occasions of Akshya Tritiya on May 13 and Pushya Nakshtra on May 15 and 16, whereas the discount of 7% will be offered up to June 30. These coins with India Post logo are of 24 carrot (99.99%) and are made of certified pure gold, and are available in a tamper- proof packaging, which eliminates the risk of duplication.
To facilitate customers special arrangements have been made for sale of India Post Gold Coins. For sale of Gold Coins separate counters have been set up in Allahabad Head Post Office, Allahabad Kutchery Head Post Office and Handia Post Office.For the convenience of different income groups these coins are being offered in many denominations. Gold Coins 0.5 grams, 1 gram, 5 gram, 8 gram, 10 gram, 20 gram and 50 grams will be available for sale at identified Post Offices.
A total of 935 post offices across the country are selling gold coins which includes 82 offices in Uttar Pradesh. These coins will be sold through 13 Post Offices including Pratapgarh, Mirzapur, Jaunpur, Ghazipurand Varanasi.
