Dear Comrades,
On his way to Rourkela to attend the CWC of AIPEU, Postman and Group-D, Odisha Circle from 27.03.22011 to 28.03.2011, Com. K V Sridharan, our beloved General Secretary waited for few hours in Sahidnagar Inspection Room for Com. M Krishnan, Secy. General, NFPE and Com. R C Mishra, Circle Secy. During this short stay, we got the opportunity today to interact with the General Secretary on some issues related to postal employees in general.
We discussed on functioning of Divisional Unions, Circle Unions and CHQ in brief. The General Secretary during the course of discussion appreciated the nice maintenance of our Divisional website with up-dated information from different spheres and suggested to continue the same. Since the CHQ website has provided links to all Divisional and Circle websites, it would be better if all the Divisions and Circles launch their respective websites, I opined.
The General Secretary was informed about yesterday’s demonstration programme conducted by us protesting PFRDA Bill.
Since time was very short, we briefly discussed on Cadre Restructuring, Postmaster Cadre, MACP issue, GDS problems etc. The General Secretary briefed on the 11th Meeting of the Postal Services Staff Welfare Board to be held on 30th March, 2011 in the Committee Room of Dak Bhawan, New Delhi with expections of some good results in favour of the employees. He told that as many as 27 important items are there to be discussed.
During the course of discussion I pointed out some genuine problems of Bhubaneswar Division now pending at C O, viz. Provision of Police escort in cash van and deployment of arm guards in the campus of Bhubaneswar GPO. He assured me on returning to Delhi, he will take up the problems. He also visited Sahidnagar MDG and interacted with the staff members. Attending personally, Com. Pranabananda Dash, PA , Bhubaneswar GPO ( now retired – the victim of unfortunate parcel bomb blast in Suryanagar S O in 2002) expressed his sincere obligation before the General Secretary for CHQ’s sincere effort to regularize his medical treatment period for more than two years and thus enabling to draw full pensionary benefits.
Com. M Krishnan, Secy. General, NFPE was greeted by the staff of Sahidnagar MDG on his arrival. On behalf of AIPEU, Group-C, Bhubaneswar Divisional branch, Com. B Samal, Divisional Secretary presented both the Secretary General and the General Secretary small mementos.
