                This is regarding delivery/booking of Speed Post articles containing ITR – V addressed to “Income Tax Department, CPC, Post Bag No. 1, Electronic City Post Office, Bengaluru – 560100, Karnataka”.  

2.       As per the provisions of Department of Posts “Only fully prepaid unregistered articles of the letter mail, namely letters, inland letter cards, postcards, aerogrammes, registered newspapers, books, of the post bearing the Post Box/Post Bag No. can be delivered through Post Box/Post Bag .

3.       Income Tax Department is a valuable customer of Department of Posts and also requested to use the Post Bag address for receipt of the ITR – V sent by the tax payers through Speed Post. Keeping in view of the customer’s profile and public interest, it has been decided to book and deliver the Speed Post articles containing ITR – V addressed to Income tax Department as a special case. 

4.       I would like to request you to allow the booking and delivery of the Speed Post articles containing ITR – V addressed to Income Tax Department containing Post Bag number in the address in the public interest. However, the acquaintance of the delivery should be obtained from Income Tax Department on the delivery slip.
