The 28th All-India Postal Badminton Tournament 2013-14 is being hosted by the Kerala Postal Circle from September 2 to 6 at the Technopark indoor badminton court at Kazhakoottam.
The badminton tournament will be inaugurated by M Sivasankar, Kerala Sports Secretary at 9 am on Monday.
Around 130 participants from 15 postal circles in the country- Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and North East would participate.
Antony K Jacob of Kerala Circle, gold medalist in
the Jharkhand National Games 2012 and national players Anjana Bora from Assam, Amit Misra from Delhi and Vyshali Bharia from Gujarat are the prominent players participating in the event.
At the valedictory function to be held on September 6, R Sreelekha, ADGP, Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau would be the chief guest.
Kerala Circle had hosted the 17th All-India Postal Badminton Tournament in 2002-03.
The previous All-India Postal Badminton Tournament was held in Lucknow.
