The commemorative stamps themed on cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar have been selling like hot cakes at the local philately bureau.
The postal department had issued a set of two stamps, a miniature sheet, sheetlet, and first day cover along with information brochure on November 14, the first day of Sachin's 200th and last test match.
"The stamps are in demand. We are hopeful that the brisk sale will continue for a few days. Apart from philatelists, Sachin's fans are largely the buyers," postal authorities told Newsline, on Thursday.
"No true fans of Sachin can resist themselves from purchasing the stamps. It is a great gesture of the postal department to honour the legend," said Pankaj Pathak, an engineering student and a fan.
