Ex-President, AIPEU, Gr.-C, Bhubaneswar Division
and PRI(P), Bhubaneswar GPO
Com. Pranabananda Dash
Member, AIPEU, Gr.-C, Bhubaneswar Division
and P A, Bhubaneswar GPO
retire today on attaining the age of superannuation.

While the retirement of Com. Purnendu Kumar Dash will create a gap  for the administration and staff members, the sacrifice of Com. Pranabananda Dash victimized in the historical parcel bomb blast while working in Suryanagar NDTSO, Bhubaneswar – 751 003, the one and only one of its kind in the Department of Posts will be remembered for ever.
Com. Purnendu Kumar Dash worked as the President of AIPEU, Gr.-C, Bhubaneswar Division for six tenures in a row from 1998 to 2010. Under his able leadership and suitable guidance, this Divisional Union has brought many victories to the Division. This Divisional Union feels his absence. He has proved himself as a magic stick for the administration as a whole performing any work anywhere at anytime may it be cultural programmes, sports events, welfare activities or administrative jobs. Irrespective of cadre and wing, he has always come to the rescue of a staff member either victimized by the administration or put to any other personal problems. He has left no stone unturned to put his best  in every sphere of life. Above all a person - loved by all and respected by all.

Similarly, Com. Pranabananda Dash will be remembered for ever for his simplicity and devotion to duty. He has remained as a bonafide member of this union throughout his entire service career.

The members of AIPEU, Group-C wish both a happy and peaceful retired life with the following few words:

“A time was there you were young with hope
Goals matured and developed
But time took away that potential scope
Old age has at last struck for true
Tomorrow you will join the old pensioners’ crew

Today, old age seems to be of no value
A new life and a new official venue
you may meet at the post office queue
Or at the bookies avenue

Dear Comrades !, work is now past you
Allow me these words to say
You are now free as a bird,
Today is your retirement day.

Retirement is the time of your life
For all that you planned to be.
To live life for the moment
To live happy, wild, and free.

Goodbye to work, you are on a high
you don't have to ask why!
You now gladly say adieu to your working life
Goodbye to toil and strife.

Tomorrow, when morning comes at noon
You will lie in bed and look up at the ceiling.
There will be no one there
To give you orders or more work
What a great feeling !

As the noon sun shines through your window
You will hear a dog bark and the noise of someone's feet.
It's the letter carrier, poor working soul, delivering your mail
You can hear him in the street.

Within you will come a warming glow
Your new life will have just begun.
This is the day that you have looked forward to
Knowing that all your work has been done.

Shortly, you will arise, get dressed, relax
There's still time left in the day for much merry-making.
You will make the most of it
Knowing that most of your friends are at work
Stressed and mentally aching.

Will there be any reason to feel any stress
Or guilt at this time of your life?
Only when you forget to wake up early
And make breakfast for your poor working wife.

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.”

  1. Wish "A VERY HAPPY & PEACEFUL RETIRED LIFE" to Shri Purnendu Kumar Dash & Shri Pranabananda Dash.

    ( Manoj Kumar Mahala )

  2. Retirement of Purnendu Bhaina has created a never to be filled vacancy in Bhubaneswar Postal Division as well as Odishaw Circle. His personality, his art of managing crisis, disolving staff problems at ease with administration will be missed for ever. I sincerly wish him a happy retired life and hope he will find pleasure by involving himself and his abilities in social activities.
