AURANGABAD: Group D postal employees affiliated to All India Postal Employees Union resorted to a day's token hunger strike here on Tuesday to press for their various long-standing demands. They threatened to go on indefinite strike from September 16, if the authorities failed to meet their demands.
The employees union in a list of long-pending demands said that the postman has to walk long distances to deliver osts. The population has increased and their work should be decided according to population proportion. They also demanded immediate payment of the incentives for the delivery of speed-posts, which the union claimed are delayed for months together. They also demanded change in coolie charges.
