To
The Senior Superintendent of Post Offices
Bhubaneswar Division
Bhubaneswar – 751 009
Sub: Organizing frequent meetings / melas on holidays and Sundays – denial of legitimate rights to the employees to avail Sundays etc.
Ref. : Divisional Office Memo No. B-Stt. / 25-1, Dated 19.09.2011
Sir,
This has a reference to Divisional Office Memo No. B - Stt. / 25-1, dated 19.09.2011 with instruction to organize one day training for the following Postman staff / MTS of Bhubaneswar Division under Plan Scheme Training 2011-12 in the Conference Hall of Information and Public Relations Department, Bhubaneswar on 25.09.2011(Sunday) from 10.00 Hrs. to 18.00 Hrs.
In this connection, this is to intimate that for the difficulties faced by the staff members due to frequent meetings / melas on holidays and Sundays and thus depriving the employees of their legitimate right to avail the break, the Central JCA comprising NFPE and FNPO unions, along with other important issues had come up with the notice of indefinite strike w.e.f. 05.07.2011. Accordingly the issue was discussed with the Secretary ( Posts) and the Directorate vide its letter No. No. 16/56/2011-SR, dated July 8, 2011 instructed all concerned not to do so in a routine matter.
But as seen, Bhubaneswar Division is continuing the same. Earlier we had also protested such a training programme on UIDAI on 16.07.2011 and 17.07.2011 ( Sunday ) without any result.
As such, we would like to request the Divisional administration to conduct the present training programme issued vide Divisional Office Memo under reference on working days and complete the same in phases.
With regards.
Yours faithfully,
( B Samal )
